We had such a great week in 5th grade!! I am so proud of all of the kids and I am honored to teach in a Catholic school.
This week in our class we had a speaker from the Knights of Columbus and the St. Vincent De Paul society. Both speakers were EXCELLENT and gave the kids really good information as to how our Church promotes social justice and Corporal Works of Mercy.
Our class had some really, really excellent discussions about Catholic Social Justice, the Lewis and Clark Journey and The Trail of Tears. I was impressed at the insight many of the students had.
The vocation panel was great. I enjoyed reading about what each of the kids is thinking about for his or her vocation.
The 5th and 2nd grade really rocked it for Canstruction. We won for the “Most Spirited and United Class” structure. It was amazing to see all of the kids working together!!
Next week in groups the kids will be working in groups to learn about and create a project to share with the class about either the Pony Express, The Transcontinental Railroad, the telegraph, the Industrial Revolution or the Erie Canal.
Some kids brought home Chrome books this weekend to finish a project from last week.
I’m so blessed to teach such a great group of kids, thank you!
